  • Weekly tuition: Q400 Mon-Fri; Q100/day if you want to take the lesson for less than 5 days; Q25/hour if you want hourly lessons; Q200/day for Sat & Sun (Convert to your currency )
  • Schedule: 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. or 2:00 p.m. a 7:00 p.m.
  • Education: Teaching credential of urban primary school. Majoring in agricultural production system of agronomical engineering at San Carlos University (CUNOC).
  • Professional aspiration: Graduate from agronomic engineering.
    Have a successful career as an engineer, and as a teacher.
  • Message to a student: One of the best way to discover my country, Guatemala, is to be able to communicate with my people and experience their customs and cultural richness. So, it is very important to know how to speak Spanish to totally enjoy your stay in my country.

 

Why do you like teaching Spanish?
Teaching Spanish to foreigners is to teach a part of my country. By teaching, I can understand much better about current situation of Guatemala.

What are the challenges of being a Spanish teacher?
To have patience, to be creative, to be dynamic and have good teaching materials to teach.

How do you make your class interesting?
To make my Spanish lesson interesting, I utilize teaching materials with lots of illustrations, interesting topics, clear and dynamic conversation, interesting readings and grammar books that are easy to understand.

How were your favorite students?
Remembering all the students that I had, all of them were special to me because I've gotten to know them as people. From their experience, they all shared with me their culture and customs of their country.

What do you do to grow as a professional and person?
Some of things that I do to grow professionally as well as personally is to implement what I have learned to accumulate knowledge. And share this knowledge with those in need.

What would you do if you have only one more week of life?
Well, I would try to fully enjoy each moment of my life with my dear ones, and I would enjoy a whole day in Xela watching sunrise and sunset.

What is the best of Xela?
I would tell you that the best of Xela is its history, my people and the richness of culture and beautiful landscapes in and out of the city.

What were you doing 15 years ago?
Enjoying my youth, surrounded by my dear ones and friends. Discovering new things and learning and building my character and personality.

What will you be doing in 15 years down the road?
Well, I hope I can be successful at being a professional and as a woman. And have my own home, a good car and travel all over the world.

Who is/was the most influential person in your life?
My mother. But, not so much now. I have learned to make my own decisions and take risks.

What is the Guatemala's biggest social issue?
Well, I think there are many problems and they are all related. Some of them are violence, racism, egoism and lack of education.

What do you propose to solve the Guatemala's problems?
The education needs to start from home. We should teach good values, understanding, love, peace and give good education so we could be better people.
