Why do you like to host a foreign student?
Because I know different cultures and I like knowing about different cultures. And I can help students learn about the best of our country, our roots and our culture. Also we have 11 years of working experience with foreign students.

What are the challenges of being a host family?
Particularly for me, the most importante challenge is to have the student feel comfortable and like the food and set the environment where the student could express his/her preferences: making the student feel at home.

What do you do to make your foreign students feel at home?
I have lots of conversations. I share about myself and get to know the students and their lives.

How was your favorite student?
All of them have been special and different.

What is the best of Xela?
The culture and the moral value of the majority of the Quetzaltecans and how we still conserve the independent spirit of Quetzaltenango.

What would you do if you have only one more week of life?
I would live the time to the fullest with my dear ones and I would do all the things that I couldn't do in my life.

What were you doing 15 years ago?
I was 11 years old and I was studying.

What will you be doing in 15 years down the road?
I hope I can be with my dear ones and in excellent health.

Who is/was the most influential person in your life?
My father because he taught me to be a responsible and lovable person who fights for her ideals.

What is the Guatemala's biggest social issue?
Maybe we are not very patriotic. And the growing vandalism and the lack of safety.

What do you propose to solve the Guatemala's problems?
Be better mothers of family to pass on to our children the value of being a good Guatemalan citizen because it's the future of Guatemala.
