Why do you like teaching Spanish and K'iche?
Because I wish all visitors to my country take along a memory: Spanish and K'iche.
What are the challenges of being a Spanish and K'iche teacher?
To be able to count on all the appropriate knowledge, not just grammar but social problems, political structure of my country Guatemala, economy, and cultural organization, etc.
How do you make your class interesting?
Through appropriate teaching materials such as word games, visiting places that a student would like to go and provide the student with facts of places that he/she wants to visit, etc.
How was your favorite student?
Well, it's a kind of person that has lots of desire to learn Spanish or K'iche in whatever form, has enthusiam and with good character.
What do you do to grow as a professional and person?
Well, to grow personally read books of self-help by all kinds of authors available to acquire exprience so that I don't have to go through the same unpleasant experience that they went through, and professionally speaking, I could say that I study about the topics of my interests that my classes in the university don't explain quite well in the classroom.
What is the best of Xela?
It could be that the people are very hospitable: they have good character and they are cooperative. I say this from my own experience as I've been studying in the schools in Xela since I was a child.
What would you do if you have only one more week of life?
I think, in my own opinion, I won't do anything because every day I think you never know when you are going to die.
What were you doing 15 years ago?
Well, at that time, I was 7 years old and all I was thinking was to do homeworks from school as well as I could and later, play, eat and sleep.
What will you be doing in 15 years down the road?
Well, I will be living with my own family, be established as a professional and a good musician or maybe I will be living in your country.
Who is/was the most influential person in your life?
Well my friend, you might think I'm really religious but it's Jesus because through his written teachings, through the Bible, he helped me make myself useful to the society, to my family and to myself.
What is the Guatemala's biggest social issue?
In my opinion as a good student of the branch of judicial and social science of the University of Guatemala, it's the lack of education, that is, illiteracy.
What do you propose to solve the Guatemala's problems?
I think it's an extremely long process for my country to reduce illiteracy, starting from the corruption of the authority of my country and then to have better budget for the education of Guatemalan children.
