Grammar in Spanish

• In order to use Spanish one step above of your current ability, you can't ignore learning grammar because it works like a backbone when you acquire many things. But I guess it's better to start learning about grammar after beginning to study a little bit of Spanish. That way you can appreciate the grammar more.
• Grammar is the base of your ability in Spanish. You've got to learn it at some point but without getting too much into the details. I was forced to learn it in my Spanish reading class but that was really worth the trouble.
• I learned to read analytically in my first year of college. Not from my professor but from my friend. Then, I really began to understand the sentences for the first time. It's a bit of exaggeration but it really did changed my life. I realized the usefulness of grammar. Before, I was understanding what I read vaguely at best, but afterward, I could understand exactly what was in it.
• There is a need to learn grammar really well. Also it is necessary to learn example sentences. I learned it by being forced to do it in school but it was worth it in the end. I would've never done it, if they hadn't forced me.
• I don't think it's a good idea to have learning grammar as a goal. But if it's a mean of learning a language, it's a great idea.
• I thought "I can't be speaking like this with full of errors." I thought my next step was to communicate what I want to say as accurately as possible. And then I have to speak Spanish with as little error as possible. I had to improve my Spanish. But without the help of grammar, I would've had a huge problem.
• I decided to read a textbook with good grammar explanation. Then, it organized the knowledge I had in random bases. It was as if the fog was clearing up.
• After learning about the importance of linguistic knowledge, what the adult learners need is understand the knowledge logically.
• I think for the adult foreign language learning, it's extremely important that the learners grasp grammatical knowledge well.
