Chicabal

Chicabal is a beautiful volcanic lake surrounded by dense vegetation. There are fishes but visitors are prohibited to go into the water as the place is considered as an alter for Mayan shermans to communicate with the gods. We usually leave Quetzaltenango around 6 in the morning and arrive there by 9am. It's 1.5 hour of bus ride and another 1.5 hour of hiking up to Chicabal.
