Zunil

This picturesque village has lots of atractive spots starting from its majestic catholic church built by catholic missionary who settled in this place. Also, it has a market / vegetable hall where you can see colorful vegetables and clothings worn my women. In Zunil, you can visit the local saint of San Simón which is worshiped by the locals that belive in his supernatural power. The peculiarity of this statue of the saint is that it is being moved from one house to another every year. Also in Zunil, there is the corperative of widowed women where you can buy beautiful traditinal clothings used by many locals. They also export their products as they are known for their quality materials.

 

From this village, you an take a pick-up truck to go to the famous Fuentes Georginas whene you and enjoy the natural hot spring and great scenery on the way. With a guide you can also explore the beautiful surrounding forrest. In this place, there is a restaurant with delicious foods and sourvenirs are also on sale. Bungalows are available for small groups.
